Philosophy

We are learning, through physics and other sciences, that we are all interconnected and inseperable. Rather than being composed of individual atoms and particles the universe can be seen as a system of interacting quantum fields. From the viewpoint of field theory, we are all made of the same cosmic energy that flows through the universe. We learned of the Big Bang that described a singularity that exploded into energy and matter that formed into all things. We have speculated that this singularity may not be a singularity at all but arises due to a process called inflation. As the universe accellerates rapidly, particles dynamically arise from the vacuum. According to String Theory, there may be other spacial dimensions to the universe. While some of the dimensions have expanded, others may have contracted releasing giant amounts of energy. While we are confined to three dimensions other particles may be manifested within higher dimensioned manifolds called branes. It may also be possible that space-time itself is an emergent form arising from these branes. We have expanded these ideas to include the universe as a whole, as a space-time object of all possible paths which forms the basis for all existance.

In the beginning there was emptiness, out of emptiness arose matter, energy, and space-time; this form of emptiness has evolved into a complex ordering allowing for life and consciounsess. Its from these higher dimensioned manifolds that properties of nature begin to arise. When we strip ourselves of all thoughts, conceptions, and the ever persistant mind, emptiness remains. It is the subtle essence through which all things rest upon.

The laws of the universe are governed by symmetry.

When symmetry is broken we get a complex manifestation of different fields.

The universe is percieved through our minds and is therefore a conceptualization.

The Mind

The mind is an all encompassing form which is non-ceasing, non-changing, and ever present.

The mind has not originated from any previous life or any future presence.

The mind has been spawned by a desire to exist and the possibility for it to exist.

The mind goes beyond all thoughts, conceptions, and karma. It is an intangible essence with which everything rests upon.

The mind is common to all life forms and can be considered the basis of all existence.

The essential mind is eternal; it never changes. It is pure consciousness and pure consciousness is timeless.

The essence of mind cannot be grasped in that every time you think you have it, it slips out of your grasp.

When you look for the mind, you only find emptiness. Emptiness is the essence of mind.

The mind is continuous and non-ceasing but what we define as self changes from instant to instant

The Self

There is an individual mind and a universal mind but there is no real separation between these.

The self can be thought of as a representation of the individual mind or equivalently as the ego.

The self can perish but the mind will persist, therefore the self is contained within the mind.

The self cannot be isolated from its surroundings in the sense that the self requires a surroundings to exist within.

Where is the real self? The self is contained within the mind.

Self awareness can lead to recognition of self only when the self disappears.

To find the true self, you must meditate on emptiness. The rest cannot be considered self.

The Emptiness

We come into existence from emptiness, and we continue to exist within emptiness.

Emptiness has to do with the interconnected existence of all objects and all thoughts.

It is only when we account for the entire universe do we realize that the true nature of all objects is emptiness.

Emptiness has taken the form of matter and energy but the ultimate form of these should be realized to be emptiness.

Emptiness should not be confused with nothingness, since there are inherent properties to emptiness.

To understand emptiness is to understand the true nature of self, universe, and mind.

We can meditate on emptiness to understand the ultimate nature of all things.

Cause and Effect

Progression of individual mind is a result of ones thoughts, actions, and intensions.

All decisions must be made with awareness and all actions must be carried out with a high level of being.

Both cause and effect combine into a single quantity called action. Causes and effects are a continuous result of our actions.

Our actions are determined by the self, but the self is not determined solely through our actions.

All causes lead to consequences. All actions lead to reactions. All causes lead to effects.

Propagation of cause leads to propagation of effects and each cause can have far reaching consequences.

The overall outcome of the world can be derived from the sum of individual actions.

To change the mind of a single individual is to change the mind of the entire world.

Impermanence

It is the nature of all things to change and so nothing is truly permanent.

Each instant is unique and beautiful and can never be exactly repeated.

Time is defined by the constant flow of changing circumstances.

An instant is truly considered an instant since any interval of time can be subdivided into smaller intervals.

Each instant brings the death of the previous instant and the birth of a new instant. This is the nature of impermanence.

Since our being changes from moment to moment, the nature of being is embodied by the nature of impermanence.

The very nature of time is linked to the concept of change but time is what allows us to measure that change.

Only in a conceptual sense do objects ever really leave this world, rather they merely transform into other objects.

It is important to realize that all things change in order to eliminate attachment.

Death and Dying

Death is universal, everything that lives eventually dies.

Dying must lead to death which must lead to life.

Reincarnation implies continuity of consciousness.

There is no beginning and no end to the mind, it is constantly changing.

We all follow karmic paths through various and infinite universes to obtain absolute enlightenment.

The process of death is important for it marks the transformation of self which is a transformation of consciousness.

It is possible to realize enlightenment during the transformation between lives.

We can understand our previous lives by looking at our current state of being.

There is a part of the self which ceases to exist at the time of death, but there is another part that continues.

The mind can leave the body, and when it does it becomes free of association with self.

Suffering

Suffering exists within the mind, but it is possible to remove suffering from the mind.

Suffering is connected to the ego, and only the ego can suffer. If we eliminate the ego, we eliminate suffering.

As long as we are attached to our ego we will be in a continuous state of suffering.

We suffer due to our own ignorance, misconceptions, but we also suffer because those around us suffer.

When we make others suffer we will naturally suffer as well.

The continuous path of samsara is a prolonged form of suffering we all feel as we cycle through existence.

There is great benefit from teaching others for reducing the suffering of others reduces our own suffering.

Enlightenment

Enlightenment is the absence of suffering, which is pure awareness.

There are many paths that one can take to reach enlightenment.

Through the minds of individuals, the various and infinite paths for enlightenment proceed.

It is possible that enlightenment can only be approached but never reached.

The ultimate knowledge of everything would require a great capability beyond any ordinary conceptual mind.

All possible states, all possible emotions, all possible thoughts.

The limits of consciousness are nonexistent; the mind is limitless.

The boundaries of perception are only perceived. The mind is limitless and without boundaries.

Conscious Energy

It is possible that what we define as self, originates within the quantum structure of the universe.

We are all composed of 99% baryonic matter which is inanimate and lifeless and yet we have consciousness.

The fact that we have consciousness would imply that energy itself can have consciousness.

We cannot deny that matter has formed the capability of intellect and reason as demonstrated by the minds of complicated life forms.

Energy may have quantum-dynamical implications of intelligence not yet known.

Consciousness arose out of matter and energy which in turn arose out of emptiness.
